By the decree of the Mayor of Moscow № 50-UM dated August 13, 2021 "On the awarding of distinctions and the conferment of honorary titles of the city of Moscow" for many years of fruitful work for the benefit of the city of Moscow and Muscovites, a great contribution to the development of the construction industry and the construction of Moscow metro stations with the distinction "For Merit to Moscow was awarded to Sergey Elgaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mosmetrostroy JSC.
Sergei Grigorievich's career has been devoted to underground construction for fifty years. During this time, he has passed the way from the shift supervisor to the general director of JSC "Transinzhstroy" - one of the largest organizations of the Ministry of Transport Construction of the USSR.
With his participation, many special objects, lines and metro stations, transport and road structures were built in Moscow and other regions of the former Soviet Union.
Sergei Grigorievich is the author of more than fifty scientific papers, twelve patents and inventions, a doctor of technical sciences, a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, a member of the Academy of Mining Sciences, the Russian Academy of Transport, Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts. On his initiative, the department "Transport tunnels and subways" was created in MIIT, which he has been heading from the moment of creation in 2013 to the present.
Today, being in the responsible position of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Mosmetrostroy", Sergei Grigorievich is engaged in strategic development and ensures control over the financial and economic activities of the company.
