On Wednesday, May 4, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin inspected the progress of work at the northern lobby of the Okruzhnaya metro station under construction.
“A large transport construction is underway in Otradnoye, the largest transport routes of our city are concentrated here. In particular, here, in this transport hub, are concentrated both the new station (of the Moscow metro) of the Lublinsko-Dmitrovskaya branch "Okruzhnaya", which was built in 2018, and the (station) of the MCC, which was also introduced, and the MCD - all three stations are practically located on the same site, the task was to connect them. The task is very difficult, it was necessary to build the northern vestibule of the Okruzhnaya metro station, which is located in difficult geological conditions, difficult soils, so the works were performed manually, very hard, slowly, but nevertheless, such a task was set, and it will be completed - this year the northern vestibule will be open,” the mayor said while inspecting the construction of a transport hub.
General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Sergey Zhukov reported to the mayor that the main construction and installation work was completed by about 85%.
“We have reached the surface, the installation of all escalators has been completed. By the end of the year, we must complete the entire construction and integrate the lobby with the MCD and the MCR, so everything is on schedule,” Sergey Zhukov said.
According to him, the main difficulties were associated with the sinking of an inclined course for future escalators. Special methods for freezing soils were used here. The development of rock in the freezing zone was carried out manually using jackhammers.
