Mitino Metro Station to Open One Year Ahead of Schedule
Mitino is a second metro station to appear beyond the Moscow Ring Road; it will connect the Mitino District of the Moscow Oblast with the metropolis. Mitino will be located at the centre of the Mitino District at the junction of Mitinskaya and Dubravnaya streets.
At the moment, the builders are finishing the concreting of the station’s upper section and two vestibules. Mitino’s internal finish will be done with traditional materials: granite and marble. The new station is also expected to have wheelchair lifts installed, similar to those already in operation at the metro stations Strogino and Kuntsevskaya.
The new metro station will service 40 thousand people per hour, which will go a long way towards relieving the north-west section of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line. Mitino is scheduled to open as early as December 2009.
