Mosmetrostroy completes concreting of the main structures of the platform part of the “Sokolniki” station of the Big Circle Line and proceeds to equip the balcony galleries. This is about three and a half thousand cubic meters of concrete, 40 percent of the planned volume.
The architecture of “Sokolniki” new circle will remind passengers of the “Komsomolskaya” station of Sokolniki line with its balcony galleries located above the tracks. In the future, their image is emphasized by LED lights.
“Sokolniki” (project name – “Stromynka”) is being built on the northeastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL). Its construction unfolded on Sokolnicheskaya Square at the main entrance to the park. The station will have three exits. The ground pavilion of one of them (lobby № 2) will harmoniously fit into the linden alley, which will be restored in the future. Thus, Sokolniki will become the second BCL station after CSKA with entrances located in the park.
Now there is an arrangement of building envelopes under the excavation pits. Excavation has already been carried out under the lobby number 1, adjacent to Rusakovskaya street. Excavation works for pedestrian crossings are scheduled for May. For the duration of the work, it will be necessary to make changes to public transport routes and block the city highway.
Through the lobby number 1 it will be possible to get to the Sokolniki line. The construction of the transition to the existing station also has its own difficulties. They do not intend to close the Sokolniki of the red line - it and the neighboring stations will operate in the usual mode for passengers. Builders will use technological windows - at night, when trains leave the city subway, and traffic on the roads is noticeably reduced.
