Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin examined the construction progress of the installation chamber of the future station of the Big Circle Metro Line with the project name “Rzhevskaya”. The difficulties of working in this area were reported to the mayor by the general director of Mosmetrostroy Sergey Zhukov.
Near the future station there is a construction site with a unique circular pit with a depth of about 50 m and a diameter of 30 m. Recently, two distillation tunnels in the direction of Savelovskaya were launched. Two shields coming from the Strominka will finish here.
The atypical shape for the mounting chamber was chosen, since there was no space for placing a standard rectangular pit. Around - dense buildings and a network of ground traffic flows.
The technology for constructing a round pit without internal struts was used for the first time in the construction of the metro in Moscow. Fastening here is carried out using reinforced concrete circular belts located on seven tiers with a fence made of bisected piles.
Upon completion of the tunneling works, it will be used for the construction of an eight-level traction-lowering substation, which will significantly reduce the amount of earthwork at the future station.
