Specialists of JSC Mosmetrostroy completed the tunneling of the first ventilation tunnel of the left branch to the Likhobory electric engine house.
For the first time in the practice of Mosmetrostroy, a tunnel-driven mechanized complex was filed vertically through a shaft 6 meters in diameter into the mine. It was lowered to a depth of 38 meters in a specially prepared mounting chamber (diameter 9.5 meters). From here, small-diameter tap-mills (3.6 meters) began sinking in September 2018. By tradition, the shield of the Japanese corporation IHI with a ground load was called the female name “Agatha”. The work was carried out in difficult hydrogeological conditions, within the boundaries of quicksand and Jurassic clays.
The uniqueness of the penetration lies in the fact that the TBM will not be lifted to the surface, but deployed directly underground in the opposite direction for the subsequent construction of the second tunnel.
The turn of the shield will be carried out in a special chamber with the help of small-scale mechanization: jacks, traverses and winches. On the total length of two tunnels will be 168 meters.
Currently, in Likhobory the delivery of trains to the line and their return is organized in one tunnel, which makes it difficult for train and shunting work. When the ventilation tunnels are ready, it will be possible to fully operate the branch in the depot in full.
Ventilation tunnels are necessary to maintain the maximum permissible concentrations of various harmful impurities (dust and carbon dioxide), as well as the stipulated standards for temperature and humidity during the operation of this object metro.
